Hand dyed yarn by One Creative Cat

One Creative Cat hand dyes every skein and draws her inspiration from the landscapes and flora of the Alps.

The yarn is available in different weight and diverse fibers.

 

Yarn weight:

The hand dyed yarn from One Creative Cat is available in lace, 4 ply (also called fingering yarn or sock yarn), DK (double knitting) and Aran (worsted weight).

Yarn fiber:

All our skeins are very soft and an absolute delight to work with.

Our lace yarn is made of baby alpaca, giving it a lovely shine and a very soft drape.

Our 4 ply yarn comes either in plain merino (untreated), merino and nylon (best for socks as it gives it sturdiness) or merino nylon and lurex (giving it a lovely silver sparkle).

Our DK yarn is merino or pure alpaca.

Our Aran weight yarn is merino.

Our yarn is dyed using the acid dyes process. We use natural powder dyes (food colouring even sometimes) and food grade acid to fix the colours on the fibers.

 

We hand paint every skein, so each one is different. If you require matching skeins of yarn for a bigger project, please contact us to make it easier for you - we cannot guarantee matching batches otherwise. Because the scale of our production is quite small, no two yarn skeins are the same, even when the colourway is identical.
